Cupcake Stack Birthday Card

It's the last day for Bugaboo's daily challenges, it's taken a lot to try to keep up but I did it!  I'm glad they left time to link in thoughout the week since I'm loading them up a couple at a time.  Today's challenge is to have some sort of increaments of Four and to use the Free image of the week from bugaboo.  So here it is! I decided to stamp the birthday sentiment using Distress Inks Salty Ocean, I love how vibrate the inks are!

Poka Dot Birthday Card

I love poka dots!  I have so many in my stash I decided to make a whole card using only poka dot paper!  And again I played around with an angled layout, and lot's of layers for that polished look.  The image is from Bugaboo, I've been trying to use a bunch of birthday images I got for 50% off and enter in their daily challenges to complete in a guest designer spot.

"Hi" Card

It's my first colour challenge!  The colour inspiration is below!  I used a bunch of papers from my stash and I heat embossed the sentiment which came from "Music 2 my Ears" from Simon Says Stamps.  I wanted a nice clean and simple card, I've been layering like crazy lately so it's good to go back to basics.

Forever & Always Card

I was excited to use my sewing skills for this card!  I created small pleats and sewed them in place and used my ultra sticky doubled sided tape to mount it to the card.  With the expection of the pearls everything on this card came from the 2012 October Simon Says Card Kit.  I heat embossed the sentiment and colored the stamp with copic markers.

Have a Magical Day Card

This is my super sweet purple card!  I love this stamp set from Hero Arts, it's just adorable!  I coloured the image with copic markers and I used a variety of purple papers, I cut out the circles with my cuttlebug and added some bling.  The clouds stamp came with the set, I cut out a cloud on the sticky side of a post it and just masked the cloud and stamped it over and over.  It's hard to see but I used my zig way glue and sprinkled some Glitter Ritz over every bit of the clouds.  And lastly I used pop dots to raise up the sentiment and the little fairy.

Butterfly Sunset Card

Hello Distressing!  The entire background of this card was distressed with the following colours: Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, and Festive Berries.  And I stamped the grass and the butterflies with a set called "Tall Grass" from Your Next Stamp.  I know its hard to tell but the frame is popped up with foam squares to give it a picture frame look.  I'm pretty please on how this card turned out, I'm still very new to distressing.

I think of you each day

Here's an extra large card I made for some of the challenges below, I used some dry and and heat embossing on this.  The cute stamp is called "A Tender Hug" by Penny Black, the heart stamp is from "Music 2 My Ears" by Simon Says, and the sentiment is from "Like Your Style" by Simon Says.  I'm really trying to play with layers and boards, I think it makes the card look a bit more polished then my usual cards.

You Make Life Bloom Card

This is a special card I've been working on for a couple of days and now I'm finally done!  I made this card to enter the Kraftin' Kimmie Guest Designer Spot Contest and I'm pretty proud of my work.

I was trying to create a scene with the background paper, clouds above and some garden and flower paper  below.  I cut all the squares with my paper cutter, I really need to get a square punch because cutting all that was painfully slow!!!  The only requirement for the contest is to add glitter or bling so I added both.  I know it's hard to see but added mirco fine glitter to the flowers and some flower bling to the side.  All the papers are from my stash and I used a paint chip card to punch out the butterfly's.  I love the colour gradient look!  Anyway I had a lot of fun making this card, and I'm hoping for a spot in the top 10, I know there are some amazing work out there and I'm just glad I got a chance to participate!  So wish me luck!

Building a Snowman Card

Here is another card using a new Bugaboo Stamp I am completely in love with these digis!  I used lots of layers for this card (or at least more then I'm use to) and I inked all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  All the papers are from my stash, I gathered a lot of different patterns of paper when I use to get the Simon Says Card Kit once a month.  I really like the look of this card, I love the layers but I didn't want to over embellish the card so this is the result.

Cupcake Card

This is my cupcake card, and as you can see I even decorated the inside of the card.  Thanks Tracy, now you've got me doing it too!

This card is for the Mojo Monday Challenge and the sketch is below.  As you see, I decided to make a birthday card and I replaced the hearts with butterfly's.  The cupcake stamp and sentiment is from Hero Arts and the cute cupcake paper is from the collection "Let's Picnic" by echo park.  And the best part is where I got the paper for the butterfly's, ever walk though the paint section at Home Depot?  Well I have, and I punched out the butterfly's from the paint chip samples, it give a perfect colour gradient.  So next time you past the paint section stop and check out all the wonderful colours!

Have a Nice Day

Here's another card I made using a new digial stamp, it's from Bugaboo Stamps and I laughed out loud when I saw it!  I thought it was too funny and I had to have it.

I didn't use any pattern papers, I couldn't find anything fitting so I decided to use solids for this card.  The buttons I got for Christmas and it's the first time using them, are they cute!  I realized I need a splash of colour so I added the pink papers to pull out the pink in her dress.  And lastly the image was colour with copic markers

A Special Day - Baby Card

Here's another baby card, I thought it would be fun to make a boy baby card, and used my first digital stamp!  The stamp is called "Nursery Baby Cart" from Bugaboo Stamps and I got it for FREE!!!  They have a free digital stamp every Friday!  I thought it was super cute and a good way to get my feet wet with these types of stamps.  I liked it so much I bought another stamp right away (that's my next post).

I used a fun yellow paper as the background to try to pull out that kid element from the stick figure stamp.  The paper is called "Head in the Clouds" by Pebbles (the other side of the paper is clouds). The sentiment is from "Like your Style" by Simon Says Stamps, the stamp orginally said "For a Special Day" but I cut off the "For" part of the clear stamp to get this.  I was nervous to cut the stamp at first but I got over it, I've seen videos of other people doing it and of course you can just peice it back together on your block to get the orginal sentiment back.  And lastly I embellished the corner with three black "Jellies" by Candy Shoppe.

Baby Bliss Card

Hi Everyone!  Here's a cute baby card I made to enter the challenges below.  The first challenges of the new year are about New Beginnings, so I decided to make a baby card.  I had a lot of fun making this girly baby card, I love the combination of brown and pink!  The baby bliss sentiment is from "Sweet Girl" by Fresh Verse Vellum.  I mounted it on white card stock so the sentiment could be seen better.  The brown dot paper and the "Just arrived..." sentiment is from a pad I got from Zellers way back, it's called Occasion & Celebrations by Super Paper Pad and the cute pink buttons are "Button Candy Dots" by Pebbles.

Last Christmas Card of the Season

So, I thought I would still be in the mood to make Christmas cards after Christmas, but alas the magic is gone, I'll get back to it in fall where the anticipation of Holiday Season will strike creativity again.

In the meantime, this was the last Christmas card I created and I wanted to share it with everyone.  This is my busy card, I really tired to add lot's of detail to get that complicated look.  I think it was done well, it sure took me a long time to figure out where to put everything!  The stickers and sentiment was all from "Tis the Season" by Echo Park Paper Company.  I found the cool old paper from my stash, it came from one of my card kit's I got from Simon Says Card Kit of the Month.  And I inked all the edges with vintage photo distress inks.
